The Purple Heart Medal is awarded in the name of the President for those who were either wounded or died while serving. This medal is also to anyone who served on or after April 5, 1917. This is the oldest military award still given to US military members. The medal also has a hall of honor located in New Windsor, New York.

The European African Middle Eastern Campaign Medal was initially established under Executive Order 9265 on November 6, 1942. This medal was awarded as a service ribbon throughout World War II. The medal is given to anyone who was in service between December 7, 1941 and March 2, 1946. The soldier must have fought in the following areas: West Boundary or the East Boundry.
